We have a great opportunity for a experienced General Purpose Calibration Technician to join our team near Pleasanton, California. This position requires you to work on-site at different customer locations locally with some over night travel.
In this role you will:
* Perform calibrations on high level and unique test and measurement instrumentation frequently at customer locations (on-site) and sometimes in the calibration laboratory.
* Use your troubleshooting, repair, and calibration knowledge to work on unique equipment
* Interact directly with customer to determine needs relating to traceability, adequacy of standards and test procedures utilized by Trescal, Inc., as well as, for items requiring repair or limited calibration
* Assist Quality Assurance in developing uncertainty budgets
* Manage work load distribution for the technicians within his/her sphere of influence when the Laboratory manager is not available
QUALIFICATIONS
As a Calibration Technician you must possess:
*Military calibration training & work experience (PMEL OR TMDE) OR AS Degree in Electronics or similar technical degree OR equivalent work experience.
*Minimum of 4 years of calibration experience in a commercial or military calibration laboratory.
*Experience in calibrating multiple disciplines of Test & Measurement Equipment such as: Physical Dimensional, Pressure, Temperature, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics
*Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 requirements
*Ability and willingness to mentor or train other technicians, as needed
*Strong Communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills
*Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Internet Research and database management
*Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
*Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload
*Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
*Must be willing to perform on-site work with some overnight travel required
And we would prefer:
*Experience working in a GMP environment preferably in a pharmaceutical or bio-tech company
*Knowledge of ANSI / NCSL Z-540-1 and ISO 9000
*Experience using Calibration Software such as: LabView , SURE/CAL and Met/Cal
